Paris 18e

On 5-6 May 2017, I participated in an Urban Photography Workshop with Peter Coles and Paul Halliday (Goldsmiths, University of London) and a walk led by Anna-Louise Milne (University of London Institute in Paris) through the 18th arrondissement. The event was based on the theme of cartographies: considering urban archaeology and how it can map social change. We spent time looking for the traces left on the urban landscape of lives lived and generations moving on and up in and through the city around them.’ These photos are some of my impressions of traces of those living in the area or traces which they inhabit. The event was organised in collaboration with the MA Photography and Urban Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London and with input from researchers in Urban History and Culture at ULIP.
